Pumping station Wieringerwaard

For Dutch Water Authority  (Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier) DAC Electric supplied the electric motors for project Wieringwaard. The pumps are from Bosman Watermanagement and are proven safe for fish (fish-friendly) to pass the pumpblades and on top of that are efficient in energy usage. The specification of these Direct-Drive motors are 114 kW – 275 rpm – 3.970 Nm

Large contract awarded!

Today, DAC Electric signed the contract for 2 pieces medium voltage motors for the Middle East. The high power performance motors shall be used to drive cooling water pumps in an industrial chemical complex.

With a rated output of 4700 kW at 750 rpm these motors are true energy guzzlers. The motors shall be mounted on vertical pumps from the company Andritz AG and have an incredible torque of more than 60.000 Nm each. That’s what we call serious business!

Amsterdam tram back on track!

DAC Electric engineered and supplied a special rebuilt motor to replace an old HOLEC motor for Amsterdam Transport Authority (GVB), The Netherlands.

Last week the tram T817 successfully performed it’s test-run. Powered by our 36.4 kW – 4230 rpm – 741 V – 141 Hz motor, this tram already started active duty for passenger service.

Have a safe trip!

Short-term refurbishment job

DAC Electric arranged a short-term refurbishment job including full-load tests with heat runs for Danieli-Corus.

The existing 4 pieces ABB motors were located in a huge steel factory of the company Arcellor Mittal and needed to get a general overhaul. Furthermore some modifications and customizations were required to meet the latest demands. The technical parameters are: 820 kW – 4 pole – 6000V and 600 kW – 6 pole – 6000V.

It was a challenge to get the motors back into operation as soon as possible but the dedicated team of specialists in Brno completed this job successfully right according schedule.

From Vroomshoop to Qatar!

DAC Electric supplied 2 units of Special squirrel-cage motors with a rated output of 250 kW at 1490 rpm suitable for Variable Frequency Drive.

The motors are intended for main water pumps at a pumping facility for Qatar General Electricity & Water Corp. in Mesaieed, Qatar

PS Nieuwe Sluis (Waterdunen)

DAC Electric delivered two large DirectDrive (high-pole) pump motors to Dutch Water Authority Waterschap Scheldestromen.

The motors are intended to drive centrifugal pumps for the newly built Pumping Station Nieuwesluis near Breskens for project Waterdunen. Project Waterdunen is the proof that Province Zealand deals with water differently. Besides a beautiful and special nature and recreation area, Waterdunen is Delta Works. But unlike the Delta Works which we know as the great works that protect Zealand against the water. Waterdunen combines nature, recreation and tides as an innovative coastal defense, with safety as precondition.

The power ratings are 250 kW at 178 rpm – 13.415 Nm.

Pumping Station Louwe Poel

DAC Electric engineered and produced two tailor made Permanent Magnet Motors for Wetterskip Fryslân.

The motors have the unique feature of magnetized rotor and can be connected for Direct-Drive onto the pump. These low voltage permanent magnet motors are a new type of synchronous motor for low speed applications, for use with variable speed drives.

They are designed to be compact, reliable and extremely efficient. The complete scope of supply was: 2x 50 kW – 350 rpm – 1.365 Nm

Dry feet in Rotterdam

DAC Electric supplies new pump motor to replace the old diesel engine.

Water Authority Schieland en Krimpenerwaard keeps moving on with their strategy to automate their pumping stations by replacing the old diesel pump drive #3 for a new DAC Electric DirectDrive motor. Pumping station master U.G. Schilthuis is located at the ‘Oostplein’ in Rotterdam and marks in fact the endpoint of the Rotte.

The new DirectDrive motor is a low speed high pole squirrel cage induction motor with a rated output of 450 kW at 150 rpm. It means a torque of 28.650 Nm.
